The City of Salem offers a multitude of ways to stay informed about important news, time-sensitive notices, and public meetings. Follow the links and information below to make sure you’re subscribed to the various channels and lists used by the City for sharing information.

CodeRED

The City’s reverse notification system, CodeRED, is used for sharing time-sensitive and emergency alerts about City services, changes to services, public safety emergencies, road closures, water outages, and weather notifications. You can sign up by texting SALEM to 99411 and then filling out the registration form, or visit www.salem.com/codered to sign up there. Notifications can be delivered by phone, email, and text message.

City News & Announcements

You can receive news bulletins from the City of Salem by signing up for the opt-in email list for City News & Announcements. Visit www.salem.com/subscribe and sign up using the form on that page, then be sure to check the box for “City News & Announcement.” Every news item posted to www.salem.com/news is also automatically sent out to this email list.

Meeting Agendas

Stay informed about when City boards, commissions, and committees are meeting and what is on their meeting agenda. You can use the form at www.salem.com/subscribe to sign up to get agendas by email, just check the boxes in the “Meeting Agenda” section for each one you’re interested in receiving.

Urgent Alerts

Also at www.salem.com/subscribe, you can sign up for Urgent Alerts. Like with CodeRED, Urgent Alerts are often used to notify residents about time-sensitive changes to City services, important bulletins, and similar notifications. When an Urgent Alert is issued it also appears on www.salem.com as a red banner across the top of the website.

My Salem MA

The City’s official mobile app, My Salem MA, is available for Apple and Android devices. Download the app from your app store for free and enable notifications to get push notifications from the City about road closures and other important announcements. Find out more at www.salem.com/app.

SeeClickFix

Visit www.salem.com/seeclickfix to set up an account on the City’s service request system. Not only can you use SeeClickFix to report issues directly to City departments to create work orders, the City also publishes notices about public services and bulletins to those with accounts.

Sign up at www.salem.com/subscribe to receive the periodic newsletter, FYI Salem, from the Office of Mayor Kim Driscoll. You can also find back issues of the newsletter and links to the FYI Salem podcast at www.salem.com/fyisalem.
