How Can The Point Become More Resilient to Flooding and Extreme Heat
Address
Join Salem's Sustainability + Resiliency Department at the Salem Academy Norman H. Reed Gymnasium for the in-person, second Public Forum for Resilient Together: The Point! We will be joined by our project consultants and partners at The Woods Hole Group, SCAPE, The Gaston Institute at UMass Boston, and Salem Sound Coastwatch for a presentation around the current project findings for how climate change will affect The Point Neighborhood. We will also be seeking input from Point Neighborhood residents, workers and business owners on priorities the city should adopt when forming an action plan to address this urgent need.
This is the second, in-person portion of our 2-part Public Forum. The recording of our first forum will be available on the project website, publicinput.com/thepoint ( para español, publicinput.com/elpunto ).
The purpose of the second Community Forum is to:
- Share what we learned from the community about climate change impacts in the Point
- Educate the public about potential strategies to build resilience to flooding and extreme heat in the Point
- Ask the community for feedback on how to improve identified strategies and which ones to prioritize for implementation in the Point
- Next steps for completing the plan
