New short-term public docks open

The City of Salem has announced that a new pier and dock system is ready for use at Congress Street for a duration of up to 20 minutes. Additionally, a float system at Central Wharf has been installed intended for public tie of tenders, to include all types of paddle craft or dinghy’s propelled by motors of 12’ in length or less while you tour, shop or dine in town (no overnight tie without authorization from the Harbormaster). Local or transient boaters that require assistance with mooring arrangements or available resources in Salem Harbor should contact the Salem Harbormaster Office via VHF Channel 16 or 978-741-0098.
