As of April 15, 2019 the Salem City Council adopted new regulations pertaining to short-term rentals in Salem. With October approaching, the City is encouraging residents who may be considering listing their property for short-term rental to register their property, as required by the regulations, and to familiarize themselves with the rules, restrictions, and requirements for this type of use. In addition to registering your short-term rental, all rentals are required to receive a Certificate of Fitness from the Salem Board of Health.

A complete FAQ, links to more information, and the registration portal are all available online at www.salem.com/str. Failure to register and to receive a Certificate of Fitness may result in fines, as well as a prohibition on registering the property for future short-term rental use.
