Salem Food Policy Council Hosts Longest Table Event!

Free Community Dinner on Saturday, June 15th from 4-6pm

The Salem Food Policy Council will host its first Longest Table event, an outdoor dinner that will take place on the Congress Street bridge between Derby and Peabody Streets. Catered by the Salem nonprofit Root, the event will be a celebration of the Salem Food Policy Council’s work, and the work of its member organizations, to improve access to healthy, affordable, and culturally relevant foods in Salem.

The menu for the event will be:

  • Spanish Rice
  • Black beans with onions and peppers
  • Roasted plantains
  • Cuban chicken
  • Dessert TBA

Congress Street will be closed on the day of the event between Derby and Peabody Streets from 11:00am and 8:00pm and there will be no parking on either side of the Congress Street bridge during this time.

If rain is forecasted, there will be a rain location in Shetland Park. Details and directions will be announced in advance. Updates and announcements for the event will be posted on the Salem Food Policy Council Facebook page (facebook.com/SalemFoodforAll) and salemma.gov.
