City of Salem Announces Second Year of Festival and Special Event Support Program

Grant program will continue to assist Salem festivals and special events adversely affected by Covid-19

Mayor Dominick Pangallo and the City of Salem are pleased to announce the second year of the Festival and Special Event Support Program, a grant program designed to support festivals and special events taking place in the spring and summer of 2023.

“Salem is a great place to live, work, and play in part because of the special events and festivals we host year-round,” said Mayor Dominick Pangallo. “These events are crucial for our local economy as we continue our successful recovery from the pandemic. I look forward to joining residents and visitors alike as we celebrate what makes Salem special together at these events.”

The program provides financial support for organizations and entities that organize and hold festivals and special events in the City through September 15, 2023. Eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis and is open to non-profits, community groups, and other entities and will support cultural, creative, and historic focused programming as well as farmer’s markets, awareness programs, and more. No more than ten (10) grants will be awarded for this year’s program, with grant award amounts of up to $10,000 being determined by demonstrated need and overall program budgets.

The Salem Festival and Special Event Support Program is made possible by the American Rescue Plan Act, which provides financial support to organizations that suffered an adverse economic impact as the result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
