Submission and Guidelines

Eligibility Criteria/Qualifications:

The individual selected must be 18 years of age or older. The individual will be a current resident of Salem, this includes students who live on campus at Salem State University. The individual must have a demonstrated body of work and provide samples that show high quality poetry. They must demonstrate a commitment to promoting awareness of poetry. The individual must also have a demonstrated history of community engagement. Members of the Salem Poet Laureate Committee are not eligible to apply.                   

Application Requirements

1. 10 examples of past work in poetry.
2. Current resume.
3. Statement of interest not to exceed 750 words.
4. Short biography not to exceed 500 words.
5. Proof of Salem residency
