Statement following mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas

Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll issued the following statement following the May 24, 2022 shootings at Robb Elementary School in Ulvade, Texas.

"My heart breaks for the Robb Elementary School families and the whole Uvalde community. Thinking of this tragic mass murder fills me with sorrow for all those who knew and lost a child today, and with rage that these atrocities continue to be a regular occurrence in our nation. As a mayor, as a school leader, as a mother, and as a human - my full and unwavering commitment is to do whatever I can, in all of my capacities, to stop this horrific tide of violence. The people of Salem and all of Massachusetts mourn with our neighbors in Uvalde today."
