Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Salem Traffic & Parking Commission will be held on Thursday, June 17th , 2021 at 6:00 p.m. via remote participation in accordance with Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021.
Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so on matters not requiring a public hearing, we will post on the City of Salem’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.
Individuals may participate remotely in the meeting via a remote participation platform called Zoom. Members of the public and/or parties with a right and/or requirement to attend this meeting may access the remote participation meeting through any one of the following ways:

a. Fort Ave/Winter Island Rd/Columbus Ave/Columbus Sq Intersection – Consultants from McMahon Assoc. will be in attendance to gather feedback from the Commission and public to begin development of a preliminary design for this intersection.
b. Neighborhood Traffic Calming Request: Mason St – Staff will review with the Commission a request to introduce traffic calming measures to Mason Street from Tremont St to North St
c. Salem Loading/Service Zones & Essex Pedestrian Mall Deliveries – Staff will present some preliminary findings related to this topic as well as discuss development of a survey intended to gather feedback from local businesses, retailers and restaurants.

This meeting is being scheduled as an in-person meeting as current COVID-19 protocols for remote meeting participation will end on June 15, 2021 unless extended by the Commonwealth. If such protocols are extended, this meeting may be changed to a combination in-person/remote or only remote meeting. Accordingly, you should check the City’s website and the Traffic & Parking Commissions page for any updated information on this meeting and how to access it, and if attendance protocols for it have changed to include or require remote participation.
