Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Salem Traffic & Parking Commission will be held on Wednesday, February 9th, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via remote participation in accordance with Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021.

Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so on matters not requiring a public hearing, we will post on the City of Salem’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.

MEETING AGENDA

  2. PUBLIC COMMENTS (15 min period of no more than 3 min per person*)
  3. NEW/OLD BUSINESS (each item limited to 3 min per person*)
    1. Washington Street Sidewalk Extension Project – Landscape Architecture firm, Crowley Cottrell, will review and discuss options to extend the sidewalk along the east side of Washington St from Front St to Follet Way.   
    2. Salem Loading/Service Zones & Essex Pedestrian Mall Deliveries – Staff will provide an update to the Commission with recommendations based on results of a business survey and other data collection efforts. 
    3. Request for Traffic Ordinance Recommendation
  1. North Street Parking Regulations – Traffic & Parking Director to review proposed amendments to the City’s Traffic Ordinance as it pertains to the North Street Safety Enhancement Project.  
  2. Traffic & Parking Commission Regulations – Review and discuss amendments to the ordinance that governs the Commission for submission to City Council.
    1. 2022 Commission Goals – Commissioners to discuss with staff goals they would like to accomplish this year.
