Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Salem Traffic & Parking Commission will be held on Wednesday, January 12th, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via remote participation in accordance with Chapter 20 of the Acts of 2021.

Every effort will be made to ensure that the public can adequately access the proceedings in real time, via technological means. In the event that we are unable to do so on matters not requiring a public hearing, we will post on the City of Salem’s website an audio or video recording, transcript, or other comprehensive record of proceedings as soon as possible after the meeting.

    1. On -Street Parking Evaluation: Leavitt Street – Staff will review revised layout plans with the Commission based on feedback received from the Commissioners and the public during the November meeting. This will include proposed amendments to the Traffic Ordinance that will restrict parking on certain sections of the street.
    2. Request for Traffic Ordinance Recommendation
  1. Jefferson Avenue No Parking Restriction – Mr. Kevin Talbot, owner of the business at 36/38 Jefferson Ave, is requesting a no parking restriction adjacent to his property.
  2. Cleveland St Resident Permit Parking – Mr. Chris Comeau is requesting resident permit parking adjacent to his home at 3 Cleveland St.
    1. Neighborhood Traffic Calming Request: Winthrop Street – Staff will review with the Commission a traffic calming application that was submitted for this roadway from Broad Street to Jefferson Avenue.
